A project conceived by Pierre Mertens and Willo Gonnissen as a contribution to the East African Biennale in 2009.
Ricardo Brey (Cuba), Mulugeta Tafesse (Ethiopia), Willo Gonnissen (Belgium), and Pierre Mertens divided a reproduction of Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (Picasso) into four parts and each created a work on their section independently, without further consultation. The four pieces were then reassembled.
