Olympia (2001)

Pierre Mertens various physical interventions throughout the Plantijnhogeschool and on their intranet. He worked from two axes: individual – mass and the physical – the virtual. From every computer in the building one can participate in a digital box circle that is projected in the central hall and further converted “text to speak” to a video installation. You can visit the building and the installations via Internet with a virtual walk through the building. He placed a rack of old Olympia typewriters in the computer room and let his thoughts go in the steam of the unconscious on the only white wall. Internet images enter the building through prints or the blinds. The project was initiated by Johan Pas.
